Meredith was born in 1817 in Bedford County, TN, the son of William Gossett and Elizabeth Barnhill.
He died in 1890 in Hickman County, TN.
His wife was Sally Harrington. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Claiborne (1848-1928).
