George was born about 1814 in Brush Creek Twp, Highland, OH, the son of John "Jack" Gossett Jr and Mary "Polly" Eyler.[Note 2]

He died in 1899. The place is not known.

His wife was Julia A. Chaney, who he married on 18 SEP 1835 in Highland Cnty, OH. Their seven known children were Mary J. (1837-?), John R. (c1839-?), Courtney E. (c1841-?), Nathan V. (1843-?), Anthony (1846-?), Nation Phillip (1847-?) and Mitchel B (1849-?).
