Luke was born on 12 NOV 1880 in Coles Cnty, IL, the son of Andrew Gossett and Mary Ann "Polly" Kiser.[Note 1]

He died in JAN 1977 in Casey Twp, Clark, IL.

He had three marriages/partners. His first wife was Leola Elizabeth Johns, who he married in 1905. The place has not been found. Their only known child was Rhea (1905-1905).

His second wife was Carrie Anderson. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their two known children were Robert "Ben" (1913-1968) and Max (1917-?).

His third wife was Lucinda Hammond. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. They had no known children.
