He died in 1820 in Ashtabula Twp, Jefferson, OH.

His wife was Mary Garner, who he married on 17 JAN 1788 in Berkeley Cnty, VA. Their eleven known children were Betsy (1787-1850), Abraham (1788-1835), John (1790-1845), Jane (1796-1893), Mathias (1798-1860), Jacob (1800-1871), Polly (1802-?), Hannah (1806-1883), Samuel (1809-?), Luke (1810-1889) and Ann (1813-1880).
